RENEWAls & recertifications
Maintaining Your AICIP Certification
AICIP certification is valid for five years, after which inspectors must demonstrate ongoing competency through a formal renewal or recertification process.
This section outlines what you need to provide, how assessments are conducted, and what to expect depending on whether your certification is current, due for renewal, or has expired. From inspection reports and employer verification to CPD requirements and Paper F assessments, this page guides you through each step to ensure your certification remains valid and compliant with industry expectations.
Renewal Application
AICIP Certification is valid for 5 years. To apply for a renewal assessment you are required to submit a minimum of 5 inspection reports; types and amount of Pressure Equipment inspected, your Continual Professional Development and verbal confirmation of satisfactory inspection performance from an employer or client along with a letter from your current/or last employer detailing the work undertaken; and a declaration declaring all information is true and correct. Applications will only be assessed if all information is provided. Renewal applications will be processed through WeldQ.
The fee for renewals is $950 (Weld Australia Members); or $1,140 (Weld Australia Non-members).
Paper F will only be applied where deemed necessary to confirm competency or in case the certification is lapsed beyond the 6 months grace period.
